History of Moto Guzzi & the iconic Falcone

Moto Guzzi started in 1921 by three Italian men, Carlo Guzzi, Giorgio Parodi, and Giovanni Ravelli, that shared a purpose and dream to create a motorcycle company post-WWI.

Little did they know it would now be the longest continuously producing motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Moto Guzzi has produced many motorcycles icons like the 850 Le Mans and the Falcone featured in this video. The Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans is considered Italy’s first superbike and has a diehard following of motorcycle enthusiasts.Click here to learn more: www.TheBadBlonde.com

The Moto Guzzi Falcone made its grand debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1950 and would remain in production till 1963.

With the aesthetics of the Moto-Guzzi, it is very much all about the inner workings and mechanicals being visible is an integral part of its appeal. You see how the engine is laid down, transverse. See its exposed flywheel? That is very much the DNA of the Moto-Guzzi. These same traits are shared with the first prototypes coming out of Moto-Guzzi in 1921 and this basic design even back to the first Guzzi-Parodi designed in 1919.

During the 18 year span of the Falcone’s production, approximately 20,000 were built and most of that production went to police and military use. Those Police and military use motorcycles were known as Turismos. Moto-Guzzi would produce this basic design for close to 40 years.

Also, the Falcone is considered to be one of the most legendary motorcycles to come out of the Italian motorcycle industry.
